2014 Reunion Brunch

Christmas seemed like a good time to have a reunion brunch of the Cold Sassy Quilters. We met at Claire's house on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00. Members in attendance were Claire G., Ann H., Carolyn G., Marion W., Rita M., Mary W., Nancy M., Nancy ?., Ruth S., Carol S., Sarah, Val B., Carole W., Nicky W., Carol F., and MorelAnn K. The food brought was all delicious, including 4 kinds of quiche, a fruit salad, a cheesecake and several other coffee cakes and desserts! There was only one show-n-tell, but lots of sharing and telling. Claire had a game for us to play, involving answering trivia questions about Christmas. As far as I know, no photos were taken.
As we were arriving, Claire's mail carrier brought a letter from Valerie, which Claire read to all of us. It was perfect timing and we really enjoyed her interesting and light-hearted writing!
There were at least 2 people we were not able to contact regarding the brunch. And others, who were not able to attend, were missed as well.
I also understand that Miguel will be leaving the Commerce Library to move into a supervisory position in another community. I know everyone in Commerce will miss him. Good Luck, Miguel!

Reunion Brunch February 8, 2014

There was a reunion brunch of the Cold Sassy Quilters at Claire's house on February 8th and we had 13 former members: Claire, Nicky, Carole, Carol, Carolyn, Marion, Morelann, Rita, Val, Katie, Ann, Mary and Nancy. Several members brought show n tell. We had lots of goodies to eat. It was really fun. Many former members were missed!!
Please note: we are not reviving this guild. But we have made plans to finish the opportunity quilt that was started 2 years ago, so that we can donate it to the Commerce Library as a fund-raiser.

Donation of Cuddle Quilts

Claire has sent the following message:

On this day I will deliver 12 more quilts to the police department.  This makes a total of 113 quilts.  I am also taking 4 to my church for 4 homeless kids we're housing this week.
Thanks,
Claire

Donation to Commerce Public Library

This Guild has been dissolved.

On July 29, 2013, the Cold Sassy Quilt Guild presented Miguel Vincente, director of the Commerce Public Library, with a check for $773.19.

We also gave  them $6.00 which was the refund on our PO box, which has also been closed.  Money was donated to the library in accordance with our bylaws.  For the next few months CSQG mail will be forwarded to Nicky Wilbanks.

Remodeled Library is Beautiful!

The Grand Opening celebration was very nice, with a huge attendance. The Commerce community can be very proud of the new facility. The Cold Sassy Quilters, as a program of the library, can be proud to participate and meet there.
Here are the pictures from the celebration. I apologize for the blurry picture, but it was the only one I got of the crowd at the ceremony!
